diagnosing sjögren's syndrome

I need some medical information. I have problem with my mouth, nasal cavities and eyes. They are all dry. I am experiencing dental decay, burning tongue and eyes. I had to visit doctor to find out what is wrong. He told me that he suspect that I have sjögren's syndrome. Tell me how it is diagnosed and does it hurt.

It is very important to diagnose this disease in early stages because of possible complications. But it is still not sure that you have sjogren's disease. There are some tests that your doctor should do to be certain. Those tests are Schirmer's test (blotting paper held on the eye), eye examination, biopsy, salivary gland test and some blood tests. They are all painless, so you have nothing to worry about.
