diarrhea

hi, im an 18 yr old female and for the past yr and a half ive been getting diarrhea for the first few days of my period. ive tried going on 2 different contraceptive pills to stop it, but i still get it. is this normal? and what can i do to help it? please help me!

This is what is happening to me every single time I get my period. It is accompanied with diarrhea and is pretty much disturbing. I looked some internet sites in order to find the answer to my question and I found a few answers. The one explanation is that there is a drop in hormones that actually initiates the bleeding. The another thing is that prostaglandins, which cause the uterus to contract and expel its lining.
Well, the diarrhea that occurs along with the menstruation is the most often mild one and stops a day or two. There are no needs for worrying about this, the treatment of this kind of diarrhea that is following the menstruation.
