didnt get my period , now i have brown discharge

hi...im sixteen years old. i got my period at age 11. ive always been irregular. but i never missed my peiod for more than two months.
now i didnt see my period for SIX months, i was really scared.i finally got it this month.
i went to the gyno and she told me to take birth control pills, which i started the sunday after i got it ( she siad it would help make my period regular) i had my period for about 8 days.(it wasnt alot) now for the past week and a half ive been having brown discharge..im really scared because i dont know what is causing it.
should i stop taking the pills? im not having sex so it shouldnt matter. but what can i do? why an i having this discharge?? please help me..!!![/b]
