What is the diet that is suggested to reduce the urate level in blood? What food should be avoided to prevent gout? I need some advices how to avoid dietary purines to reduce high urate level. I’m interested in a link between gout and food.

Deposits of urate crystals in the joints cause disease called gout. Urate is metabolic product of purine nucleotides that are compounds of DNA. Dietary purines are present in fish and fish roes. Reduce of weight, avoiding alcohol, avoiding heavy meals with lots of fat. Food that contains lots of purines is liver, kidneys, sardines, anchovies, caviar. Diet should be high in carbohydrate, moderate in protein and very low in fat. Six glasses of water, tofu, rice, cereals, fruit and vegetables should be found on your menu.
