Hi there, I have a husband who has a problem with slipped disc. I know the other name for the condition which is disc prolapse. I would like to know everything you can offer me about this condition. He can't move his neck very well, and he feels sharp pain inside his arm. Thanks in advance to all of you who answer.

Hello, I had the same problem before but I am ok now. If someone lifts heavy things this condition may happen. In many cases surgery is not required. But in most complicated cases, it is necessary for patients to have a surgery. If the surgery is not needed, patient should be lying still and muscle relaxants and painkillers should be prescribed to him. That was the case with me and it was all right. However with some patients this is not enough and then they should go to hospital for a couple of weeks and they are then closely monitored. But in most severe cases where patient can't pass urine surgery is required. I hope that your husband will be back on his feet in no time.
