Hi, I am 32, with 3 beautiful girls. I also am on a paraguard. Its a birthcontrol placed in my cervix. Well i havent been having any problems the whole 5 years ive had it. Tonight I noticed when i went to the bathroom, I had a stream of discharged with a little pink in it and a little cramping before that. It scarred me alittle. Im not really cramping now but can anyone tell what it could be? I have no itching nor burning. I have been off my period for going on two weeks and no sexual activities for 4 days.......help!

Hello onlyme121074

I am 37 with 4 beautiful girls and 3 handsome boys and I recently got the paraguard put in (1 1/2 months ago) and I have had a discharge since I had it put in. The smell is not unpleasant and they say that this is normal but it is very uncomfortable with a constant feel of being moist. I wouldnt worrry but if you are uncomfortable about it you should go see your gynecologist. For me the feel of being a little wet is better than having another child. My oldest is (almost)23 and my youngest is 3 1/2 months. (ages 23,22,19,18,16,4,3 1/2months)I'll deal with it, hahaha.

PARAGARD is not placed into the cervix, it is placed in your UTERUS, at the top.

Paragard does cause increased discharge, but you could have BV, or bacterial vaginosis. It is actually common, and I happen to get it a lot..Guess I am lucky Razz

Get checked out by your gyno, BV is easily treated!

I am 20 years old and a college student. Im currently on my second period after getting my Copper IUD inserted. I basically got it done because i was sick of having to take a bc pill each day. The day after I got it inserted, I did some real research and psyched myself out and thought I made a huge mistake after reading many horror stories.

HOWEVER, i abesolutely love it!! My first period came a month after inserted with yes, an expected heavier flow, however still lasted the same number of days. Cramping was pretty minimal. No spotting or cramping after my period. Although, I got my period a week early for my 2nd one I am experiencing no cramping. I get a thick discharge (no odor) at certain parts of my cycle but consider it normal. Ive had sex since, and i totally forgot about my IUD until after the sex!! my sex drive if anything has increased because the hormones in my old bc pills dried me up, now its all slip and slide!

I absolutely recommend this method!!!
