dismissed in middle of optifast program

Hi,
I was wondering how harmful it can be to your body to quit the optifast program (after four months of full fast) cold turkey. My physician didn't like the fact that I had found the shakes significantly cheaper from a different source than his so he dismissed me from the diet only to reinstate me if I purchased 30 days of optifast product from his source. I was in total shock, here I am having to have routine blood work and biweeky physician visits to be dismissed without any warning!
Not to mention he recommended the diet to me for health reasons!
