do i have to get myself checked if i have had only one partner( both of us were virgins)?

I have had only one partner, and we lost our virginity to each other, i has been about a year since then and neither of us have got ourselves checked, is this a problem? i mean, we dont have any std's( we lost it 2 each other )or anything but is there anything else i should be worried about ???
