my father in law was diagnosed with bladder ca in oct & had a cystectomy & prostatectomy performed. the urologist stated that 2 of the 18 lymph nodes removed were precancerous and everything was fine and sent home. however now we just found out dec 14 that he now has stage iv bone met from the bladder ca. how do you go from being fine to stage iv. the oncologist stated cant cure the bone ca but can cure the bladder ca isnt that prolonging the inevitible- is it worth going through chemo if you only have 6 mths to 1 yr.
Chemo may be worth if it helps him live for a while longer...Some cancer can spread more quickly than others, and can come back without notice....The best resource that I have found for myself is the national cancer society they are very educated in all types of cancer and stages...They can give you advice and may provide other treatment options...I would deffinitly look them up and give them a call.....Im very sorry to hear about your father in law, and what your family is going through right now....I wish you all the very best!!!
