does birth control patch effect pregnancy test results?

I am on the patch for birth conrol right now and i lately i have felt dizzy and light-headed and almost fainted and a friend told me that it was a sign of pregnancy. I can't remember if my doctor told me the patch highers you estrogen or progesterone! if it highers the progesterone would that make the pregnancy test become positive?

NO birth control does NOT affect the results of a pregnancy test.

Pregnancy tests detect Human chorionic gonadotropin (or hCG), not progesterone.

hCG is a hormone that the body will produce when a woman becomes pregnant. This hormone is not present in women who are not pregnant.
