The bleeding couldve been cause by just friction between the vaginal wall and his penis, not actual breaking of the hymen itself. It depends for some people what virginity is. I considered myself a virgin even tho my boyfriend and I were already having oral sex and i let him finger me. Technically im not sure if my hymen was in tact or not when we started dating, because i used to be very active in sports. So i think the breaking of the hymen is kind of irrelevant to virginity since anything from a fall or just rough physical activity (other than sex, duh) can cause it to tear. I am no longer a virgin if you consider intercourse the ultimate loss of virginity, but i definitely i lost my "purity" way back when we started the oral sex and what not. So i believe there is also a line between purity and virginity.... it depends what you value more i guess... if you value virginity then i guess u'd let oral sex slide... even tho it is just as private and personal (it involves penis being inside you in a sense) as intercourse itself... but if you value purity then i guess even getting felt up would be considered loss of innocence.

but for the most part... its in your mind... if you're talking about relationships... leave the anatomy for medicine... not everyone has the opportunity to take a college anatomy and physiology course so we all arent speaking with the same connotation of virginity.

just an accident? okkkk... its impossible keep yourself a virgin when you tease urself and him like that.. foreplay leads to sex at any given period in time... its no surprise. what whas his penis doing out if you weren't planning to stay a virgin... and why were your legs open? he cant "accidentally" push it in if they were closed... i think u pretty much lost it there.

This happened to me too. My best boyfriend and I did a bit of experimenting and he wanted to come in and see what it’s like. I said ok but not to deep because I must remain virgin. If my future husband to be found out I wasn’t a virgin, that would be a big shame for my family.
However, he did go to deep and it was bloody and a little bit painful and I knew it was over with my virginity. I also think it was an accident but I am still so angry with him now, and I he is looking for a doctor who will perform a hymen restoration. I know this will cost a lot of money, but we have to find it, and I will do this surgery.

How old are you? I am 17.

If youre still dating your boyfriend that did that; i suggest that you marry him and not tell anyone that you lost your virginity to him before getting married... Then all should be good..

I am really starting to wonder if the teenagers know anything about sex. Your virginity is lost when a penis enters a vagina. Not when the hymn is broke, as it can be broken from sports activity and such.

As far as a penis "accidentally" being pushed in?? Come on now!! The idea was there, or legs would have not been open, or penis' out. Not to mention, that letting a guy "Put it in, but not very deep" may end up getting you raped. Just because he is your boyfriend, and you wouldn't think he would do that, testosterone is a very strong hormone.

And for the girl who can't let her family know she is not a virgin......DON'T TELL THEM. You're NOT a virgin now, and no matter what anyone tells you, a man CANNOT TELL IF YOU ARE A VIRGIN OR NOT! Also, last time I checked, no matter what religion or culture, a pelvic exam is not a prerequiste for marriage. It wouldn't matter if you got the hymn repaired, or sewed your vagina shut all together, you're still not a virgin.

Chances are, that if either you or your boyfriend have to ask a question like "I'm bleeding, does that mean I lost my virginity" you don't need to be having sex anyway. There is a lot of responsibility with sex, like BABIES, STD's. How would your family handle that one??? It sounds like you both need to grow up a lot emotionally and mentally.

Even though you cannot get your virginity back, you can make the choice not to put yourself in that position again, and not have sex again until marriage. You have plenty of time, believe me.

P.S. The woman who said you should just marry your boyfriend that you lost your virginity to is stupid. You sound very young. there will probably be many boyfriends along the way. Don't feel like you must marry him because of this! Good Luck!

When a guy puts his finger or fingers into a gal's vagina, can the hymen then be broken?
When the hymen is broken, does it have to be proved with pain and bleeding?

A slight penetration may break the hymen in one place only, and the second time you have sex it may break again in different place. the hymen normally break in 2 places after full penetration. You can look to your self and examine your hymen, there are many variation but the most common type is the annular type. if you see the edge have a cut mostly in the 3 clock position and 7 clock position then it is broke. If you find only in one place then most likely you will bleed again in again next time .

You loose ur virginity when a guy has gone in ur vagina with his penis all the way in. I just cut my hymen a little bit when i was ten riding a bike and its still there. If u break ur hymen with a tampon or fingers and u bleed afterwards still means ur a virgin.
