| back to the very first question..i just joined the forum and have a similar question as you. I never had sex before. recently, his penis was in me, maybe halfway, but i'm not sure. There was a little penetration and didn't go on for a long time, and i may have bled but I'm not sure because I was just about to start my period, so it could've been that. I am just curious as to whether half penetration feels anything like full penetration, and whether I am a virgin? |

I hate to break this to you, but yes, you had penetration, and as a result, you are no longer a virgin.
However, NOBODY needs to know.
I'm not sure why anyone would think it was their business to ask, but I'd tell anyone what they wanted to hear.
It's nobody's business but your own.
But technically, you're no longer a virgin. No matter if you bleed, or bleed again. |

Well, that IS the classic definition.
However, some are now saying, anytime you have penetration, whether by a guy or gal, that is the end of your virginity.
Also, the nerve endings in the vagina are clustered around the opening, so even if he were to have probed deeper, the feeling might not have been much different. However, there is a sense of fullness with deep penetration... and, of course, if you are in the missionary position, the weight of the person pressing down on top of you.
I'd also like to point out, whether your period was near or not, you need to be using protection (Birth Control) EVERY time you have such contact..."even a little bit" cause that's how sperm gets passed to a woman... by placing the penis into the vagina OR by passing a sperm coated finger over/in the vagina.
Use caution if you're going to play like a big girl now...  |

True that. I believe the lost of virginity is a psychological thing rather than physical. Its foolish/childish to believe that the hymen is the symbol and guardian of virginity, with the modern medical technology, hymen is easily reconstructible.
Thus, even if you slept with 10 different guys, you can still be a "virgin" if you do a hymen reconstruction surgery. |

Well, I don't think that's how our culture defines virginity.... The existance of an intact hymen is taken to be proof...
but the point remains...
If she's had penetration....even a little bit...or for just a little while... society defines that she is no longer a virgin.
(But then, really, who's business is it to know whether she can be classified a "virgin" or not..... and THAT's my point.) |
