does drop in hcg levels indicate miscarriage?

My very good friend is in the 6th week of pregnancy and her tests showed drop in levels of hcg. She was very worried as she couldn't stay pregnant for some time and she is afraid that she may loose a baby. I would like to know if drop on hcg level indicate miscarriage.

Hi, I have drop of ghc during my pregnancy but it didn't mean that I will lose a baby. It is sign that something is not going well but she would go to her doctor and make ultra sound. When it happened to me my doctor made ultra sound to me anf he told me that HCG drop may be sign of miscarriage but it is not absolutely reliable sign. It also may be caused by miscalculating of pregnancy date and ectopic pregnancy.
