I have been experiencing vaginal discharge after gynecologist put me on birth control pills. He found it as the best way to treat my irregular periods. However, I am scared it brings me more problems now when I am using it. That is why I wanted to ask you does first time I use birth control pills could affect irregular of periods. Can anyone give me an explanation about this, could pill help me make my periods regular?

You have to know that your severe vaginal charge is a response of your cervix to a high level of progesterone. You receive it without the ovarian hormone androstenedione you take from birth control pills. A high level of progesterone can over-excite the cervical receptors. Sometime, result could be forcing of the cervix to release a huge amount of mucus. Particularly, if progestin, which is synthetic progesterone, is used, the situation may promote the development of cervical cancerous cell from the progesterone receptors. You should stop taking birth control pills or at least reduce its dosage, in cooperation with your gynecologist. This is because the pills may cause spotting and little irregular bleeding as you might experience. When a small amount of blood is oxidized inside and when it is mixed with cervical mucus, the result is vaginal discharge, dark colored. When you are on the pills for a long time, your cervical progesterone receptors become over-developed. With a high dose of progestin, this makes the cervical mucus become very heavy, so you should report this to your doctor.

I used to have the most irregular periods. I would skip them. I never knew when I'd have it. They could fall anywhere between 25 to 55 days from my last period.
THe first month I went on birth control I had some spotting. I've been on it for 3 months, now I know when my period will come. It comes the same time every month. I can predict it.
Birth control is the best thing for you. Just remember it takes your body a couple months to get used to it...you may spot and bleed the first couple of months. But its worth it once your body is on a regular cycle  |
