Hi. I suffer from binge eating disorder. I eat a lot, usually by night. My sister says I have a night eating syndrome too. Don`t know what to do…. Should I try to diet? What is the cause of my problem? I am not overweight (probably because I vomit each time after binging). Any suggestions will be appreciated.
Hi. I have the same problem. I went to see my doctor yesterday. I asked him the same question, about the diet. He told me people who are not overweight should avoid dieting. Strict dieting may worse the problem. The effect of dieting on binge eating disorder is not clear. The cause of binge eating disorder is unknown. However, it is known to be related with depression. People with binge eating disorder usually suffer from depression too. Certain emotions, such as anger, anxiety, or sadness, may trigger a binge episode. I am on a group therapy now. I hope this will help.
