| I am 34 years old, 5 years in marriage and with drinking issues with wife. It is not me who has problem with alcohol, but her. She has been drinking ever since she got a new job, as a secretary in a big firm. Payment is really high, and that is the only reason she still works there. But the pressure is unbearable, as she says. Her colleagues are idiots, most of them anyway, and when she comes home the only relaxation that works for her is whiskey. Not much, all with good measure, but she did not drink that much before. I am afraid for her, but I am afraid to start a conversation. She never got drunk so far, but still.. |

| You are married for 5 years man, what are you waiting for? Help her. Even though she controls her drinking, how long will it last? What will happen when the pressure at work becomes higher? Bigger amounts of alcohol for bigger problems? I don't think that is the way out. Talk to her, ask her what is her, let her tell you all of her problems again and again. I suppose you know that changing job is the solution, but money is the problem. Find her a new job with similar payment, until then help her survive daily crisis. You cannot forbid her the alcohol, but everyday conversations might replace it eventually. |
