My daughter very often has problems with urinary infections and dysuria. She takes lots of antibiotics to treat it. She is 24 years old. I don't believe that it can be from help, and it seems to me that she'll develop resistance. Can you tell me something about curing dysuria and its complications? Can it be associated with genital infection? Thanks.

Dysuria can be associated with cystitis, that starts when bacteria affects urethra during sexual intercourse, and can travel to bladder. dysuria is generally term for discomfort and pain when urinating, so it can be associated with any infection of genital area. But sometimes reason of dysuria can be irritation caused by chemicals in soaps, bathes or douches. Treatment depends on causal agent, so I guess that it has to be based on cultivation. This kind of infection is usually treated with succes with proper antibiotics, but if it is connected with genital infection, then both partners should be treated.
