Hi, I don’t know how to help my sister. Not only that she’s anorexic, but she has some following symptoms like constipation. She hasn’t realized yet how serious is her condition, and she acts like nothing’s wrong. Any advice would be helpful!

Unfortunately, more and more young girls are becoming sick because they don’t know the line between fitness and skinniness. They don’t realize that there is the difference between being healthy and fit and being skeletal, hungry looking. Eating disorders can be seen on every step, and constipation is just one of the following symptoms. Anorexia is very dangerous disorder, and you have to help your sister to realize that! The other following symptoms beside constipation are irritability, dry skin, hair loss, headaches, fainting or dizziness and obsessiveness with the food. Some other eating disorders that can be dangerous just like anorexia are bulimia and binge-eating disorder. Your sister can treat constipation with some laxatives, but it will not affect the underlying problem. She might not have constipation any more, but something else will appear.
