Hi! My batchelor party’s approaching and I have been on Prozak for half a year now for treating depression. I noticed improvement with the drug and haven’t been so down since I started taking it. I was wondering if anything bad could happen if I drank for that one night only! Should I stop taking the drug that day or some days before! Thank you for information you can provide

There are warnings about mixing alcohol and Prozac. It is said it could lead to increased drowsiness and dizziness or it could make you very tired but it could make you vomit all night. You can actually never tell how it may turn out to be. Alcohol may be safe if you have two or three drinks but slightly over that amount could make you feel as if you’ve been drinking A LOT. You should know your limits and know when to stop. There is no point of stopping the drug because it won’t leave the body for at least two days and it is not recommended to abruptly stop taking Prozac as you may suffer from withdrawal effects.
