I had several panic attacks that were folowed by cycles of depression. I could not sleep and lost the interests for everyday living, for my children , job, food, everything. I couldn't even make the desicion to visit doctor and got medications for depression. Two weeks ago, I have started to feel a bit better. I have heard that effexor can be from help in depression. Please tell me something about this medication. Thanks.

Efexor helped me to break the cycle of depression that I had got into. This drug has ingredient that is stimulant of serotonin and norepinephrine. Serotonin has role in human brain to stimulate good mood. It is not free of side effects, it caused me constipation, sweatiness and loss of apetitte, but I knew that these were only side effects that would dissapear when therapy was discontinued and depression would be cured.

| I just want to say--things will get better. You will read plenty of bad thing about Effexor--but, I will tell you that it is a great drug. It is very helpful in helping people "get back on their feet". My suggestion is that no matter what type of medicine you're taking you MUST go to therapy. Meds don't work alone. So, take a deep breath--talk to a doctor you can trust. Try new things like meditation, yoga, deep breathing. All of these have helped me TREMENDOUSLY with my panic disorder. Take heart---this too shall pass. |
