Hi, I am 37 years old male and I am suffering from emphysema. I am smoking for a long time and several months ago problems have started. I started to cough and to loose my breath during some physical activity. Also there is constant feeling that my lungs are full of air but I feel breathless. Doctor told me that I am suffering from emphysema so I would like to know more about it.
Hi, bronchitis and emphysema are lung diseases which belong to the group of chronic obstructive pulmonal diseases. Main cause of these two diseases is cigarette smoke. Symptoms are similar and main one is coughing. Emphysema is collapsing of air sacks in the lungs and capturing of air. This reduces active part of lungs and patient feels lack of air.
