  • A drug that reduces or prevents depression.
  • A stimulant drug which has an agonist effect by increasing the production of serotonin and noradrenaline.
  • Antidepressants include tricyclic antidepressants, monoamine oxidase inhibitors and serotonin-specific reuptake inhibitors (SSRI's).
