The skin diseases caused by UV-radiation are not only skin cancers (malignant melanoma, basaloma and squamous cell carcinoma), but also increasing numbers of polymorphic light eruption and sun allergies or allergies occurring after the use of sun cosmetics.
Recently we started a small scale clinical trial with a leading german dermatology clinic to test an already approved plaster system containing a cytostatic drug for treatment of basaloma.
In Australia and the USA the number of new basalomas is estimated at more than 600 cases of 100,000 inhabitants per year.
