• Birth control is a device or drug used to prevent pregnancy.
• Regulation of the number of children born, by either preventing pregnancy (by birth control pill, sterilization, etc) or by preventing birth (by abortion).
• Any method used to avoid the body's natural state of fertility: preventing or reducing the probability of pregnancy without having to abstain from sexual intercourse.
