Cellulitis is a bacterial infection of the skin and it's characterized by redness, swelling, edema and tenderness.
Cellulitis appears as an inflammation of the tissues indicating a local infection.
Most commonly it appears on the face and lower legs but also skin on other areas of the body may sometimes be involved.
Skin infection that spreads rapidly
Main treatment is with appropriate antibiotics.
It has no similarities with cellulite which is a cosmetic condition featuring dimpling of the skin.
