• Eating is the act of consuming food.
• Eating is considered out of control -- when it includes continuous nibbling, binge eating or any combination thereof.
• In humans, eating is performed by placing food in the mouth and then swallowing it, with chewing often occurring between these actions.
• Compulsive overeating is the excessive consumption of food, often thousands of calories at time.
