Hyperthyroidism is a disorder characterized by under-production of the thyroid hormone by the thyroid gland.
The diagnosis of hypothyroidism is confirmed by finding very low levels of thyroid hormones (T4 and T3) in the blood.
Hypothyroidism is a disorder of the thyroid gland, which is the butterfly-shaped glandular organ located in the neck just below the voicebox.
When the production of thyroid hormone decreases below the normal body's need, the condition is referred to as hypothyroidism.
