  • The most common conditions for hysterectomy are: fibroid tumors, endometriosis, uterine prolapse
  • Hysterectomy is the surgical removal of the uterus.
  • When the uterus and part or all of the cervix are removed, it is called a total hysterectomy. When only the uterus is removed, it is called a partial hysterectomy.
  • Hysterectomy can cause many side effects relating to decreased levels of sex hormones.
