Scope Note
failure of a professional person, a physician or lawyer, to render proper services through reprehensible ignorance or negligence or through criminal intent, especially when injury or loss follows; includes violation of laws, regulations, or professional standards and the intentional falsification of scientific data by presentation of fraudulent or incomplete or uncorroborated findings as scientific fact.
