Facts

• Membrane is a thin layer of tissue that covers a surface. It also lines a cavity or divides a space or organ.
• It's a kind of thin barrier that permits passage of molecules of a certain size or of special physical or chemical properties.
• Membrane consists of a double layer of molecules called phospholipids and it has proteins inside of it.
