Progesterone is a steroid hormone that is made in and released from the corpus luteum in the ovary, theplacenta, and in small amounts in the adrenal glands.
A female steroid hormone secreted by the ovary.
Progesteron is being produced by the placenta in large quantities during pregnancy.
A female hormone that acts on the uterus to prepare it for implantation and growth of a fertilized egg.
Progesterone usually opposes the action of estrogen, another female organ.
