Facts
- Semen is a white or grey liquid, emitted from the urethra (tube in the penis) on ejaculation.
- Intracytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI) is a laboratory procedure developed to help infertile couples undergo- ing in vitro fertilization (IVF) due to male factor infertility.
- Sperm is the mature male reproductive cell.
- Millions of sperm are present in each ejaculate and only one spermatozoon will fuses with the ovum at conception to produce an embryo.
- The sperm carries 23 chromosomes, 22 autosomes and an X chromosome or aY chromosome.
