• Stomach ulcer represents erosion in the lining of the stomach caused by hydrochloric acid and pepsin in stomach.
• Diagnosing a stomach ulcer is done using a range of methods, including:Endoscopy - a thin flexible tube is threaded down the oesophagus into the stomach under light anaesthesia.
• Occasionally stomach ulcer is caused by cancer and rarely, some other specific illness is found to be responsible.
• Root causes: A stomach ulcer is the result of hyperacidity, which is caused by an increased in the hydrochloric acid in the stomach.
• Stomach ulcer is also called a gastric ulcer.
