Facts
- This is where the palatine tonsil is located.
- The pharyngeal tonsil is formed by numerous variable folds of lymphoid tissue within the mucous membrane of the roof and posterior wall of the nasopharynx.
- Tonsil is an oval-shaped, lymph-like tissue situated at the back of your throat.
- Tonsils belong to the lymphatic system, which aids the body in fighting off infection.
- An infection of the tonsils is called tonsillitis.
