  • This is where the palatine tonsil is located.
  • The pharyngeal tonsil is formed by numerous variable folds of lymphoid tissue within the mucous membrane of the roof and posterior wall of the nasopharynx.
  • Tonsil is an oval-shaped, lymph-like tissue situated at the back of your throat.
  • Tonsils belong to the lymphatic system, which aids the body in fighting off infection.
  • An infection of the tonsils is called tonsillitis.
