Use

The secondary structure of tropocollagen is unusual.
Enhanced secretion of tropocollagen is common for mesenchymal heart cells in EIAC.
Tropocollagen is cross-linked, not via sulphur bridges as is the case with many proteins, but via bonds between lysine and its aldehyde derivative allysine.
Gelatin results when soluble tropocollagen is denatured, for example on mild heating, and the polypeptide chains become randomly dispersed.
On the upper left-hand surface of the fibroblast, notice that secreted tropocollagen is beginning to condense into fibrillar form.
