- A tubal ligation is a surgical procedure whereby a womans fallopian tubes are cut, clamped, blocked or tied to prevent her eggs from traveling down to her uterus.
- Tubal ligation is a very effective, permanent method of birth control.
- Tubal ligation is an operation that cuts and blocks a woman's fallopian tubes.
- Tubal ligation is for women who do not want any more children.
- Sometimes the tubes are closed off by tying and cutting (tubal ligation), sealing (electrocautery), or applying clips, clamps, or rings.
- Tubal ligation can be reversed in a procedure called Tubal ligation reversal but it does not guarantee pregnancy success.
