- The urethra is the tube that passes urine from the bladder out of the body.
- The urethra is the tube that empties urine from the bladder, the hollow organ in the lower abdomen that stores urine.

- The urethra is about 11/2 in.
- In girls the urethra is short and straight; in boys the urethra is long, and S-curved.
