- Urticaria is a skin condition also known as hives.
- Urticaria is characterized by the development of itchy, raised white lumps surrounded by an area.
- Urticaria is often a sign of an allergic reaction.
- Cholinergic urticaria is tiny bumps surrounded by a white or red halo which come on with exercise, heat or emotion.
- Chronic urticaria is a disorder where the patient experiences recurring hives (skin rash) a few times a day for several months or years.
