Background Timed voiding is a fixed time interval toileting assistance program that has been promoted for the management of people with urinary incontinence who cannot participate in independent toileting.
Prompted voiding is a behavioural therapy used mainly in North American nursing homes.
Prompted voiding is effective with most residents between 7:00 am and 10:00 pm.
When appropriate, a urinary flow rate is done, which is a test that displays the characteristics of the flow curve and residual urine volume after voiding is obtained.
