| Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge. I thought I have mouth cancer already! But after reading your posts, I realize that I just have enlarged circumvallate papillae. I just hope that it will be back in its normal size. |

| I have been on antibiotics for a sinus infection and when I forgot to take my probiotics I also got enlarged circumvallate papillae. I wonder if it doesn't have something to do with the antibiotic killing the "good bacteria" in your mouth and on your tongue. Just thought I'd share...back to the probiotics for me. |

I've had enlarged circumvallate papillae for about four years. If anyone is concern that your are in danger of dying relax your fine. Maybe Probiotics can help but there's really no need, they will reduce in size on there own but i don't know if they'll ever go away without doctors help, but once a gain don't worry your perfectly healty. |

|

I too have had canker sores my whole life, triggered by stress/eating poorly/not getting enough sleep/stress/stress/stress! I had thrush three years ago (simultaneously with a sinus infection, not fun) and it was cured by Diflucan. I thought I had thrush almost two weeks ago, had a white tongue, pain while swallowing which felt like food was stuck in my throat, and raised bumps on the back of my tongue. I went to the doctor who said the bumps were "normal", even though I had NEVER noticed them before. She also wasn't sure it was thrush, instead was quick to assume that I had gluten sensitivity/celiac disease. I have been taking probiotics, crapylic acid and ventian violet tincture to treat the "thrush" (or whatever it is) along with cutting out all gluten, sugar (including fruit), dairy, yeast "white food" and alcohol. Ten days later the white tongue and throat are back to my normal. I am going to add back in gluten on day 12 and then slowly add others in to see if there is any reaction.
Has anyone tried anything similar?

I've gotten canker sores for pretty much my entire life, but the past year or two I get them constantly. The doctors say it's because I stress out too much and it just activates the canker sores. I've had a couple, both on my tongue the past couple days, but a day ago the back of my throat felt weird. I took a look at it today when I got the chance and saw the enlarged bumps I'm assuming and hoping to just be the enlarged circumvallate papillae.
DO you think this is possibly another stress factor? This is the first time I've ever had or noticed them being enlarged. Should I get it checked out? |

I too am glad I found these posts, I have been walking around almost afraid to discuss it, I smoke and thought for sure it was cancer or the worst. The first time I felt it, I thought I must have swallowed a hair or something but by the end of that day it felt like a patch of fur on my tongue. I am proud to say that it scared me straight and I haven't had a cigarette in 4 days
ffeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwww. |

| Putting Hydrogen Peroxide in your mouth WILL cause your tounge to swell as well as the Circumvallate Papillae. |
