Hello! My father is 72 years old and he is complaining about his testicles. He says his epididymis hurts. However, he doesn’t want me to take him to a hospital, he is too stubborn, he wants me to get him a cream or a drug to make everything go away. You know what the old people are like. Now, I need some info on what can cause pain in the scrotal sack, so I can explain to him how or if dangerous this could be, so that I can persuade him to go to a hospital with me. Thank you!

Hi there! I know what you mean about the old people, I have a mother like that. Anyway, pain in the scrotal sacks can be caused by too many conditions and yes, some of them may be dangerous. I will just number these, and you think of a way to persuade your father. You know, most of the pain felt in the sack doesn’t come from the sack itself. There is prostatitis ( typical for older people ), then it could be pain in the groin caused by the overactivity of the pelvic muscles ( which is highly unlike for your father’s age), a hernia, hydrocele, spermatocele, epididymitis ( is very painful ),a varicocele and a testicular torsion cause an acute onset of severe pain. There, now you know the possible causes, all you have to do is make your father have an examination!!!! Good luck!
