Hi,

I was diagnosed with a urine infection six weeks ago which had caused epididymitis. I was prescribed a 2 week course of antibiotics which seemed to clear the problem up after the first 9 days. At which point stupidity kicked in and I tried it out to make sure everything was in working order. About 12hrs later all symptoms were back. Now after 4 weeks of another antibiotic and a teticular scan(all clear) It seems to have cleared up.

My problem is this, I still have occassional pain in the testicle and it is now raised almost like its cold (if you know what I mean?) My doctor has said sex will not be a problem but I dont want another set back. Is it common for a testicle to be tender and raised after infection?? How long should I wait before sex??

My brother also had epididymitis but he was very strict with his treatment and did everything by doctors orders as he was very concerned about the possible sterility as he and his girlfriend were on the way of enlarging their family. So, they refrained from sex. He was told not one month after all the symptoms were clear (I remember him going mad over this). He also did a change in his diet, no coffee, no soft drinks and a lot of fruits and some other stuff just not to get constipated.
