Hi, I am 49 years old male and I like to drink with my friends from time to time. Several days ago I have felt strong pain in my chest and I way afraid that there is something wrong with my heart. I went to see my doctor early next morning but he told me that everything is fine with my heart but that I have esophagitis. I would like to know something more about it because he forbidden me to drink and eat spic food.

Hi, esophagus is part of digestive system which is situated between your throat and stomach. It is consisted from gentle muscles which are sending food in right direction. You have probably cause irritation of esophagus with alcohol you are taking and now it would be needed some time to let it heal. You need to listen your doctor and avoid spicy food and alcohol.
