I have a friend, 64 who has cancer of the esophagus. He is having trouble getting food down and keeping it down. I would like to help him…does anyone have any ideas about the kinds of foods, solid or liquid that he could ingest? The great danger is that he will waste away due to poor nutrition or choke on food that can't go all the way through. I’ll appreciate any advice.

I know there are many drinks that he could buy, that are fortified with Vitamins. I believe the best thing to do it buy a Good Blender and mix up food for him so he can drink his food. I had half of my esophagus removed and I am now taking chemo and radiation for the cancer cells that could not be removed surgically. I couldn’t eat solid foods, but since the surgery I can eat anything now.
