essential oils for sunburn treatment?

My grandmother has problems with her skin. At first I did not know what it is because she can't speak. I have just notice that her skin is red and that she is scratching from time to time. Then she has written me to explain that it is from sunburns. She asked me to give her the essential oil to treat the sun burn. Can it be used for treatment?

It is nice to know that there is a grandchild who is taking care of its grandparents. Essential oils can be used in treatment to relieve pain and to help healing. The most common used essential oils are chamomile and lavender. You should use couple of drops with the carrier oil and you should massage her skin area affected with sunburns. Or she can add few drops in bath and soak until she feels the relief.
