excessive bleeding after a D&C

I recently had a D&C after a PAP smear came back questionable. The results of the colposcopy and biopsy came back fine. I bled for about 2 weeks, mainly just spotting not very heavy at all. I then had my period which lasted 5 days, stopped bleeding for one day and started bleeding again heavily. I went to see the Dr and he told me that everything was fine and it should stop soon and gave me some drugs to help stop the bleeding. However I am concerned as I live in a third world country that isn't known for having the best Dr's. I am currently going through menopause which might have some bearing on the bleeding? but was curious if this is normal. I will be heading back to the states in 2 weeks and will be checked out there by my usual GYN Dr just to be sure, but at this point I would like a more information if this is normal like the Dr here told me

I hope your bleeding stops soon! I have been there too, I know how scary it can be. Do you know what medication he gave you? Are you going through a pad an hour? If you continuously go through a pad an hour or more you will need to see a doctor sooner!
