extreme hunger, sleeplessness, constipation, gas, bloating

My husband has been extremely hungry, never full or satisfied no matter how much, how little, or how often he eats. He also rarely sleeps at night, and has gas, some constipation, and is often bloated. This has been going on for a long time. Any ideas as to what could be wrong with him?[/list]

This sounds like chronic candida. Candida is a yeast that people can get after taking antibiotics, eating too many bad foods, or other reasons. The most common reason is antibiotics. You can look up this condition on the internet or read about it in the books "Lifeforce," by Dr. Jeffrey McCombs, "Natural Cures 'They' Don't Want You to Know About," by Kevin Trudeau, and "The pH Miracle," by Dr. Robert O. Young.

You can try putting him on a diet. It's going to be difficult, but you can try it. This is the diet that I did myself. Here it is:

No yeast for the first three weeks.
Only one serving a fruit a day. No fruit juice.
No more than half a potato and other starchy squash a day.
No milk or cheese. Cream, like butter, sour cream, etc. is okay.
No sugar of ANY kind. This includes artificial sweeteners, honey, molasses, etc. This is the most important part.
No fungal foods, like mushrooms.
No fermented foods, like vinegar, pickles, alcohol, soy sauce, etc.

This could take anywhere between six weeks and six months. I know that sucks, but this could really help him. I suggest you give it a shot. I've done it myself and I have more energy and feel better than I've felt in a very long time.

I also assume that he's seen a doctor. If not, he should definitely do so.

I hope your husband can find the solution that works for him.

Has your husband been tested for celiac disease? I was diagnosed in January of 07 and I experienced all the symptoms he has. After going on a gluten free diet I feel so much better.

Have him tested first do not try the GF diet until all his results are back.
