Hi! Rapid heart rate and bounding pulse both occur normally with heavy exercise, fever, or high anxiety. A bounding pulse can be in relation with high blood pressure or fluid overload. Call your doctor if you have any sudden, severe, or persistent increase in your pulse's intensity or rate. Medical help is important when rapid heart rate and bounding pulse are accompanied by other symptoms, or when not relieved by resting for a few minutes.
