fast pulse, normal blood pressure

My heart pacemaker was slightly damaged during surgery 17 years ago. Since then my resting pulse is above 120 although my blood pressure is on the low side of normal, I am thin, and I exercise moderately and more is not an option due to my heart. My doctor has me on a beta blocker. Is there asn alternative drug therapy?
