Hi Abegail,

I read your post, thank you for being candid. If I may ask, who is telling you this information? I believe that they are not informing you correctly.

First, your vagina will not lose its full elasticity. There are exercises that you can do... called kegels...look it up on net. These exercises help and you can do them without anyone even knowing you are doing them.

If your "partner" goes elsewhere....NO MATTER WHAT THE REASON..... that will tell you their level of committment to you. If that is all they are interested in.... well then perhaps they should find someone who is as disrespectful and selfish as they are.

Midwifes, no matter who they are, should be respectful of you, your wishes, your dignity and you very person. Search carefully for a good midwife..... there are medcal professionals in ALL fields who are VERY good with their patients, and others who leave little to be desired.

As far as urinating and bowel movements go, they will be pretty much the same.... the urination issue that you mentioned can be controlled with the kegels pretty well. But you wont just urinate all over yourself. When you give birth, muscles are often used that we dont even realize where there in the first place. Many women express that they get a little bit of urine when they sneeze, that is normal. Again, the kegel exercises help to strengthen those little muscles. You can do them while you are pregnant.

You are preparing for one of the biggest miracles you will ever experience. It is an absolutely AMAZING time. Please also remember, that you will have many emotions involved due to hormonal fluctuations. THAT IS TOTALLY NORMAL. Take it with a grain of salt. Our bodies where most preciously designed to handle this great gift of life and love. I had my son, and it was the most AMAZING experience. Your heart will melt.

Sweetie, please dont believe everything you hear. There are just people who dont realize the effects their words have on others. Many things happen often when women give birth. "A friend loves at all times". DO GET EXCITED about your birth, drink in information from reputable sites, and educate yourself.

Pregnancy is a gift and a child are a heritage from God. He will take you through any and all things. Trust Him and watch His miraculous works. Many blessings to you sweetie !!! Please let me know how you are doing, ok?
